Mike, love your talks, you bring up deep subjects. I want to pose a different picture about leaders. Yes most people think we need leaders but no we don’t. What we need is quality consensus. There will be leaders that come to the fore because they appeal to people through their skill, experience or storytelling,and sometimes it works for us. however leadership is not formal at all and should be purely spontaneous. Leadership in nature is very temporary and that's how we need to treat it. Someone better always comes up pretty soon, because we learn from each other. To plan to be a leader is cheesy. This comes about because we only have one interpretation of reality and an entire other aspect is totally missing, and ignored so we don't see answers.
Qortal is a good basis to get something going such as a quality consensus sysstem. We have got to get our minds out of the framework of being governed. There is absolutely no reason for adults to govern other adults! It’s preposterous. It may have been needed in the old times, but now, with digital tech, especially Qortal, all we need is a quality consensus system. I can explain it all if you’re interested.
A quality consensus system can start in the family as well as any scale of people of three or more.

I notice the Voluntaryist conference coming up in November - notice only men featured as speakers? How are we going to get the feminine interpretations doing it this way? And it's not just one woman or two, tokenistic like we normally see, and people think it's equal. No it is not. We need to notice ratios. And by noticing rations, it puts us into the new paradigm mind.

Damn, I’m so relieved to hear your stance on voting/not voting. I haven’t voted for years. I am minimally “trained”, if you will, in the arena of Government, Political Parties, etc. I have seen many elections come to pass, many injustices, lack of true leadership, laws being enacted, ways of the workings of “The System”….. You did not turn you back on the storm, as some unalterable disaster, but to suggest that we can effect the storm from a place of peace and love, to actively seek to lessen the storm in first in our thought, an intercessionary prayer, knowing the importance for us to live this prayer in our lives, as you say to create, express abundance and joy, in the midst of storms, that become no longer storms but our deliverance. The world is as we are. Voting, like any action in life can also be from this loving place in consciousness. Don't let some idea of the perfect be the enemy of the good. We can express goodness in thought and action in the world without being perfect. We should not be hindered in the way we live and move and have our being in this world because it is not perfect. The world is imperfect but it can be moved gradually in a better direction, even if it's just small steps, first within ourselves.
Damn, I’m so relieved to hear your stance on voting/not voting. I haven’t voted for years. I am minimally “trained”, if you will, in the arena of Government, Political Parties, etc. I have seen many elections come to pass, many injustices, lack of true leadership, laws being enacted, ways of the workings of “The System”….. With event of Covid, I questioned “Am I Democrat or Republican”, then realizing I am neither. That I don’t relate with this system. I haven’t since I was very young (I am now 58).
I AM a deep thinker, feeler, hoper, dreamer… this keeps me on the fringes of “The Norm”. It always has.
As I age, I am relieved and challenged to be on the Fringes, on the edge, the few, the one who questions…. Everything.

I used to be an anarchist and didn't vote for about 8 years. Ignoring them and "withdrawing my consent" didn't make them go away, unfortunately. We are just not in a place of consciousness as a society where we are going to get anywhere with the "self governing" rhetoric.
