βIn order to awaken, first of all one must realize that one is in a state of sleep. And in order to realize that one is indeed in a state of sleep, one must recognize and fully understand the nature of the forces which operate to keep one in the state of sleep, or hypnosis. It is absurd to think that this can be done by seeking information from the very source which induces the hypnosis.
....One thing alone is certain, that man's slavery grows and increases. Man is becoming a willing slave. He no longer needs chains. He begins to grow fond of his slavery, to be proud of it. And this is the most terrible thing that can happen to a man.β
I had the experience of making the devil meditate with me yesterday morning working in the Frequency Shift Journal. I literally spent like an hour hearing demon dude's voice telling me if I journal and write my intentions and commit to my dreams it won't be perfect or good enough. I knew that was not me.
After I showed up for myself all the way in love and respect, and let home boy demon know were are doing this - I was free all day long with boundless energy!
Appreciate Gurdjieff, who, when I was first came across him (via Ouspenky) I thought was radical in his views. (Nope I was just clueless.)
The self-remembering practice, particularly meaningful helped me understand how common it was and that lack of self-remembering (being present and aware as a self) explained so much.
Well it's only amplified of course.
It is sort of amazing how one can go through the day, month, years even in an automaton-like way. Life works. Bringing self-remembering into this world is needed and comes with its own challenges.
I have to disagree with one of the quotes, the one that went something like "A man can only gain knowledge from someone who already has that knowledge". And I think that Gurdjieff probably would disagree with the quote in it's limited form as stated.
While it can be be more efficient to learn from others and the knowledge of others can awaken a new path of thought, ask yourself how the people we learn from gained their knowledge. Simply by questioning what they think they know, no matter where that knowledge originated. That's where innovation begins.
I've begun to wonder why people read and invoke the the old philosophers instead of doing their own philosophy. I've never read more than a few lines of a handful of philosophers. I find that the flaws in their thinking are glaringly obvious. If you must take in the works of others, ask what their intention is and look for the logical fallacies in their thought streams.

Laughter and humor are critical to well beingβ¦. And so much more!
I appreciated how you broke it up βinto bite sized piecesβ. Each little morsel of wisdomβ¦
I do appreciate your car recordings, I donβt mind the noise of the car, etc.

Read anything by Kathy Oddenino, a spiritual philosopher of our time. She passed away in 2016. Many books on Amazon.
Is that anything like doing your own philosophy?
you have been really busy and talk a lot; rest your larynx
Addendum to the previous comment: Do your own philosophy.
I agree but also see great value in assimilating ideas from other great minds as this is a collective experience here cheers
But this experience is not so collective as some may wish to perceive it is.
